What is an I-9 form?
The I-9 form, officially known as the Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9), is used to verify your identity and eligibility to work in the United States. It requires you to provide specific documents that establish both your identity (such as a passport or driver's license) and your eligibility to work (such as a Social Security card or birth certificate).
When do I need to complete it?
The I-9 form should be completed prior to or on your first day of employment. The I-9 form must be completed by the end of the third business day after the employee starts work.
How do I complete it?
Complete Section 1 of the I-9 form in Inova.
Submit documentation found on page 2 of the I-9 so FCNY can complete section 2. Without documentation, the I-9 is incomplete.
What forms of identification can I use?
Please see a list of acceptable documents here. If you have any questions on acceptable documents, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team.
What happens if I do not complete it within 3 business day of my first day worked?
Please complete your I-9 form within 3 business days of your start date. If this form is not completed by the end of the third business day after your hire date, you will be unable to continue working until it is done.
FCNY offers a wide variety of benefits to full-time staff from healthcare insurance to legal services and much more! Please see our 2026 Benefits Guide and our benefits page for an overview of all of our benefits offerings.
You can enroll in these benefits within the first 30 days of your employment with FCNY, during open enrollment periods, or within 30 days of a qualifying life event such as loss of coverage with another provider, marriage, divorce, or adoption/birth of a child. Open enrollment periods happen annually for healthcare, dental, and vision insurance and flexible spending accounts.
New hire benefits are effective 30 days after hire date.
To enroll in benefits, please log into the Inova employee portal and navigate to your onboarding checklist. Please scroll down to the item "Benefits Enrollment". Please follow the instructions to complete your enrollments or to waive coverage.
Learn more about completing your timesheet, viewing your paid time off balances, and requesting time off here.
When is pay day and how often will I be paid?
Payroll is paid twice a month (semimonthly), on 15th and the last day of each month. If the pay date falls on a weekend or holiday, you will be paid on the business prior to the 15th or the last day of the month.
What timeframe does each pay check cover?
Salaried employees are paid concurrent with the payroll. Employees paid on an hourly basis are paid on a one cycle delay.
Where can I see my pay statements?
Pay statements can be found in your Inova employee portal. From the home screen, select My Information then My Pay History.
How can I update my direct deposit or tax withholdings?
